New Mexico Couple Arrested For Locking A Girl With Disabilities In A Wooden Cage
A couple went to watch a movie with their three children while they left one at home locked inside of a wooden cage.
Cindy Patriarchias, 33, and Edmond Gonzales, 39, were charged with negligently child abuse and negligently permitting child abuse after locking an 8-year old girl inside of a wooden cage.
Patriarchias and Gonzales went to watch a movie at their children's school when Patriarchias' estranged husband found out the 8-year old girl was left along at home by herself.
When police arrived they found the girl locked inside of a wooden cage that measured 2 1/2 feet wide and 4 feet tall. According to the HuffingtonPost.com, "The girl suffers from microcephaly - a condition that gives people an abnormally small head."
The 8-year old girl is currently under the supervision of the New Mexico Child Protection Agency.
