Super Simple Recipe For Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Thanksgiving is pretty much here! That means cooking and more cooking. An easy solution would be to canned items instead of homemade. Let's not! LOL. Here is a simple way to make homemade cranberry sauce.
With Thanksgiving being such a busy holiday, it's easy to find shortcuts while cooking. Well, I have a super simple recipe for cranberry sauce that will make you never want to buy that canned stuff ever again.
You will need:
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup sugar, or more, to taste
- 1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries
Now let's cook it!
- In a medium saucepan, mix orange juice, orange zest, sugar and 3/4 cup water over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
- Now mix in the cranberries and bring to a boil. You will now reduce the heat and let simmer until sauce has thickened, about 15 minutes.
- Let cool completely before serving.
This recipe can be made up to a week in advance and still be awesome. It is also perfect to add to those left over turkey sandwiches! Yummy!
