There's a motorcross event coming to Amarillo on March 5th and 6th and it's a big deal in more ways than one.

The pandemic's iron grasp on the country throughout 2020 meant the Kicker AMA Arenacross riders, organizers, and sponsors (among the many other individuals and groups involved in the event series) spent the year thinking quick on their feet and shuffling dates that seemed to be postponed or cancelled as soon as they were set--all while considering the health and safety all involved.

Finally, in November 2020, Cycle City Promotions made the announcement that the AMA Kicker Arenacross Series would host twelve rounds for 2021. It was decided that the first two rounds would kick off in January at Mississippi State University; to wrap up the series, the 11th and 12th rounds are scheduled to take place here in Amarillo, Texas on March 5th & 6th, 2021.

With the final two rounds coming up fast, the AMA Kicker Arenacross has another major problem at hand: ticket scalpers.

"I'm having problems with a third-party ticket outlet that is buying my tickets and selling them for a premium," said Tod Hammock with Cycle City Promotions in an email sent to area media contacts. "....[it's] causing people to think that I'm charging over $40 for a ticket."

A press release dated November 4, 2020 showed the original price of one ticket for the Arenacross series listed as a mere $20. Meaning that the third-party ticket outlet received a 100% profit off the original ticket cost.

Hammock is displeased that the steep ticket prices will hit spectators and fans where it hurts: their pocket, and his relationship with the sport, which is one of passion rather than profit.

In response to the third-party sellers' buyout of tickets to the final rounds, Hammock has created a PSA that will be broadcast on air. The PSA will inform those who purchased Arenacross tickets of the third-party's buyout and price gouging.
