Welcome To Texas, Here’s How To Save Taxpayer Money
One thing that drives us absolutely crazy as residents of anywhere is taxes.
Politicians and cities are always asking for more, and we're wanting to give less.
Well, a sheriff in Florida has come up with something that will help out the police force as well as save taxpayer dollars.
Home robberies and invasions have been on the rise, and Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson had a heck of an idea to make life easier for everyone.
He was discussing a recent home invasion at a press conference, and he uttered something that made people giggle, laugh, think and gasp.
Johnson said, “If somebody is breaking into your house, you’re more than welcome to shoot them in Santa Rosa County. We prefer that you do, actually,” PREFER...let that sink in. Why?
It saves taxpayer money because if you get them right, they don't end up in the court system and jail and that is where the taxpayer money portion comes in. Those are the pieces that cost us taxpayers.
They're even encouraging residents to come out to their gun safety classes every other Saturday. He says if you come out and participate in those courses, "you'll shoot a lot better,"
So it got me thinking. Maybe this is something we should adopt in Amarillo, and quite honestly the entire state. I mean, we're already an open carry state so anyone can carry whenever they want with the proper papers.
Some are hesitant to pull the trigger even if their safety is in danger because they're afraid of what the consequences could be. We could educate everyone on when it IS ok to pull the trigger, how to shoot properly, and what to do if you indeed find yourself in that situation.
If home invaders knew that residents have basically been told shoot at will, could it slow down and ultimately stop home invasions and robberies? I don't know, maybe. It's just a thought.
