Yolo’s Breakfast Food Challenge With Raina Huang Wet But Fun
I headed down to 45th and Georgia Saturday evening. I was excited to watch another food challenge. They are always a fun time. I have so much admiration for people who can do these kids of feats. I really do. I always think I can do them. I have never tried.
I have watched Molly Schuyler annihilate three of the seventy two ounce steaks at The Big Texan back in 2015. It was crazy. Again I love these competitions. So when I found out about Saturday's challenge at Yolo's I was all in.
Yolo's put up a breakfast challenge. Raina Huang accepted the challenge. She had to eat:
- Two meat breakfast burritos
- One tower stack peanut butter banana & peanut butter jelly French toast
- One breakfast pile up
- Two Texas Sized cinnamon rolls
Reading that it doesn't seem like much. OK....who am I kidding. It was a lot of food. So i showed up early and was talking with Yolanda, from Yolo's. They so were ready to tempt the fate of Raina. They were prepared. They even had a tent just in case the weather got bad. Oh thank goodness for that .
As a radio observer they had my heart by offering me a cheap beer. Hey, I'm in radio. You had me at beer. I do take bribes.
Raina showed up a little late due to traffic situation involving a semi. She made it and was ready for the challenge. I don't think even Raina was aware of the challenge she really faced.
Yes the food was a lot but a few minutes into the challenge that is when the Texas Panhandle welcomed her with our rain. Oh and then there was the wind too. Luckily the tent was there that she was propped under. We tried to block the wind and rain. She continued to eat all the food. We kept joking if you don't like the weather wait ten minutes. It will change. I don't think she liked our weather.
It's not usually like this. Yolo's offered to let her go inside the food truck to finish. She opted against that. At one point, I kid you not, the tent blew away. The spectators caught it and put it back up. This girl from California was not a fan of our weather but she was a trooper. She ate everything.
Even as all of us scurried away from the parking lot. We left soaked. We still were thrilled that we watched another great food challenge attacked by Raina. She has successfully put another one under her belt. Check out her YouTube Channel HERE.
