Early voting started this week in Texas and will continue through October 30. If you haven't gone to cast your vote yet, you still have time.

If you need a ride to get to the ballot box, you still have time for that too.

The start of early voting was all over the news, and the fact that there are services available to help get you to the polls was something a lot of people were talking about. Consider this a friendly reminder that just because you don't hear about it constantly, that doesn't mean you don't have time.

There is a service available in Amarillo to help you get to your polling location. It's called Voter Lift. You can get more information about it here. You can also call 806-752-9646.

The website does give info on some general guidelines (rules) for when you book your ride.

You will need to wear a mask. Also, they ask that you try to keep any conversation you try to make with your driver about something other than politics.

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinion. The last thing you want to do is to get into a shouting match with a volunteer driver who is just doing this because they believe every vote matters.

If you want to get more information on your polling location, the candidates, the issues, who and what is on the ballot; follow this link to our page full of election resources.

However you vote, be sure your voice is heard. And be sure to thank your driver.
