I know we have enjoyed this wonderful weather for the past couple of weeks and hopefully soon we see it coming to an end.

I hope everyone out there is taking special care of their animals. This is the type of weather that is even harmful to them.

This weather is especially hard on their ears, nose and paws.

This frigid cold can cause frostbite on you dogs and cats; so it is extremely important that they have a warm safe shelter.

If you cannot bring your animal in, make sure you have extra bedding in their doghouse or the garage. If you have a safe heater to leave in your garage it would be better. Hay will also help keep your animal warmer.

Make sure you check their water source often, because it will freeze quickly and it is important

to keep your animals hydrated.

It is not good to let your animal get overweight but, in the winter time an extra layer of fat will help them stay warmer. So I suggest that if your dog or cat is an outside animal that you feed them in the morning and evening.
