If you've ever traveled between Borger, Fritch, Sanford, or Stinette, chances are that those long curved roads that go on for miles and miles can make any driver nervous, especially with the construction that can tighten up the roads at certain points. Sadly, this resulted in the deaths of 3 traveling teenage sisters last night.

The Department of Public Safety is now investigating a fatal crash that resulted in the deaths of three teenage sisters, Madison Harris, 18, Kaitlyn Harris, 16, and Jeslyn Harris, 14. According to reports of the crash, Madison Harris had been traveling north of Borger, between Highway 136 and Sanford in a Jeep Wrangler on RM 1319 at unsafe speeds on a curve in the road around 7:00 P.M. . Harris lost control of the car on the curve, and the car flipped, rolling multiple times until finally stopping in a field off the road.

When emergency workers arrived on the scene, all three sisters were pronounced dead on the scene. The crash is still under investigation by the DPS.

This crash sent shockwaves throughout the community, with Sanford-Fritch ISD issuing the following statements regarding the crash.

There is currently a Go Fund Me page for the Harris Family for funeral expenses. The page had raised $4,250 out of its $10,000 goal.

When driving out in that area of the Panhandle, please take the turns and curves slowly and just be cautious overall when driving on tighter roads such as these, especially at night. It can be a matter of life and death, even if it does not seem like it.
