When it comes to Texas, you'll find people living the high life, living comfortably, living paycheck to paycheck or in debt up to their ears.

They are number 8 in the country for the most credit cards. The next closest state in Texas is Brownfield and they come in at number 25.  This Wallet Hub study compared different metrics, including the number of credit cards owned and the number of new cards opened.

The amount of credit cards may also correlate to the amount of accounts in collections because Wallet Hub found that Laredo is the #1 city in the country for account collections.

The city with the most credit cards in the US is Winston-Salem, NC.  On the opposite end is Juneau, AK.
