In every small town, you will find that one bright jewel of a place that can't help but shine bright. In Borger, that place is Neumann & Company on Main Street.

The distinguished-sounding name is well suited for this combined boutique and coffee shop. However, this is not your typical boutique. The owner, Jamie Neumann, is a former schoolteacher with an eye for the remarkable. As you enter the front door, the first thing you'll see is a looming chandelier artfully constructed from book pages.

Neumann herself created this impressive piece of art. An artist with a keen eye for clean lines and natural color palettes, Neumann has knit together a unique world of elegance and beauty within the historic building that her boutique calls home.

The stunning storefront boasts a carefully curated inventory of beautiful clothing, jewelry, artwork, among numerous other collectible items.

Then as you make your way to the back, you are welcomed by the cutest coffee shop.  It's the type of place you would see in the movies. My editor said "I feel like I'm in Beauty and the Beast!" as she twirled around with her camera....and she's not far off.

In particular, there is the cutest antique orange couch. I have named it the "Friends" couch. They have a small stage filled with antiques where they have live music once a month

The coffee they brew is supplied by Palace, another locally-owned business out of Amarillo. While I just went with my basic coffee with sugar-free caramel--It was delicious.

Our Picks: The Flannel (cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar w/ frothed milk); Cafe Breve w/ whiskey flavoring

My co-worker had the Flannel, which has cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar with frothed milk. My editor had the breve with a shot of whiskey flavoring and delivered rave reviews on the blend.

They have a menu of great coffee options options and pastries. They also have loose teas and coffee you can purchase and take home for personal use.

One of the things you'll notice about Neumann & Co is how you instantly feel at home. Here is one of my favorite things that I found out about this place when talking to Jamie Neumann.

When COVID hit, Jamie had to let her staff go due to the shutdown. She was able to to open up the coffee shop only. She said that she would have people come in feeling scared of the unknown. One day, she was speaking with a young woman who said, I wish there was a way to tell God heard your prayer. To which Jamie told her there is, and she quoted the scripture of 1 John  5:14-15.

That scripture began the tradition of putting scriptures on the coffee sleeves. This is a beautiful and touching show of encouragement for any guest of Neumann & Co.

This building definitely has some history, but it also has a future and Jamie has big plans.

If its been awhile since you've been to Borger, you definitely need to take a day trip
