It has been an Amarillo tradition now for 22 years. The annual Beans & Cornbread luncheon is the kick off for the Interfaith Campaign for the Homeless (IHC). The money raised goes to local agencies that are there to serve members of our community who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Think about this - what would it be like if you only had beans and cornbread to live on? That is all you could afford or all someone was able to provide to you and your family. That is the reality of this luncheon. This year's goal is to raise $300,000 to assist area organizations who work to meet the needs of those who are struggling to feed themselves and their families, to keep their homes, or to find safe shelter.

The luncheon is Monday, October 8th, at the Amarillo Civic Center Heritage Room from 11:30am - 1:00pm. Tickets are available at the door for $40 for individuals, and tables can be purchase through the Amarillo Area Foundation. If you're not able to attend, don't worry - you can get a brown bag lunch thanks to Xcel Energy delivered to you for $10. Click here to order your brown bag lunch in advance. Proceeds from all sales go directly to the fundraiser.
