The Only Thing Lacking During Shortages is Common Sense
Can we just admit that these past few years have been nothing short of challenging? We have had to deal with a pandemic. We had to deal with the rising cost of well, everything.
We have had to deal with shortages. It's pretty much been a waiting game to see what the next big shortage would be. We started with it being toilet paper. Then we added paper towels to the mix.
How about when everyone was worried about covid and things like hand sanitizer were hard to come by. Oh and if you could find any Clorox wipes congratulations would be in order. We haven't lacked for the next new craze in shortages.
Then we couldn't find cups when we went to get a drink at our favorite place. To-Go boxes were hard to keep at our places too. What about straws? I mean I feel like we have hit a cycle for just about everything.
Then the talk of an avocado shortage was discussed. That made the price of guacamole go up. It was months before we could find noodles on the shelves as well too. Oh, and it didn't matter if it was spaghetti noodles, penne pasta, fettuccine, or even ramen noodles. The shelves were bare for months.
I even had trouble finding Gatorade. It seemed every time I went to the store a new adventure of what I might be missing would present itself.
The one shortage that has caused panic for new moms has been the formula shortage. Not even babies were immune from the hysteria. It's tough when your baby is on one formula and not only can you not find it. Then the one that is substituted is gone too oh and then one messes up their stomach anyway.
That shortage is still not over. This is the one that has affected my family the most. I can find a way to do without toilet paper. It won't be pretty but not being able to feed my granddaughter is a massive concern.
We have had a shortage of tampons too. Really? These shortages are really driving us, women, up a wall. Stop messing with our stuff.
The one thing that I feel we have had a shortage of for real is common sense. It has gotten a bit better. When the toilet paper shortage happened people rushed to the store to try to hoard what they could find.
Limits had to be placed at the stores. At least there are some good things coming about. We are learning how to do without some stuff even for a short time. We are starting to learn how it was in the olden days. You know before we had so much in the world that we now seem to need.
