20 years ago today an F-4 tornado struck the towns of Pampa and Allison, leveling homes, businesses, and anything else in the way.

The many times I've visited Pampa I'm surprised I never found out about something of this magnitude happening so close to home. I just turned 5 years old when this happened so of course I don't remember anything at all about this devastation and destruction.

The National Weather Service said there were 20 tornadoes reported in the Texas Panhandle that day, this particular one that struck the industrial section of Pampa caused $30 Million in damages. Luckily no deaths were reported, although 7 people were injured.
