Summer is pretty much here.  Temperatures have been in the high 90's and a lot of families in the area are suffering without relief.  The United Way of Amarillo and Canyon would like to you to help keep them cool.

The United Way has kicked off their fan and air conditioner drive.  They are trying to collect as many units as possible to help families in need.  With the temperatures hitting record highs, the United Way wants to make sure that everybody has relief this summer.

Last year, they gave around 100 families air conditioners and fans.  This year they want to be able to provide for everyone who needs one.  The fans and air conditioners are given to people with disabilities, the elderly or families with infants.

The high temperatures can cause all kinds of problems for the elderly and small kids.

If you would like to help, you can donate an air conditioner, a fan, or money to the organization.  Just drop your donation off at their office at 200 S. Tyler Street.  If you would like more information, just call 806-373-0867.
