All good things must come to an end, or so the saying goes. Yesterday, I was told that the creator of the satirical Borger PD Facebook page has turned himself in.

The Facebook page for Hutchinson County Mugshots commented on the last post we made about the page giving us the news, and gave us a link to their page to see the most famous mugshot in Hutchinson County.

Go read through those comments. The guy is becoming a folk hero.

In case you haven't been paying attention to the most entertaining thing to happen in the panhandle since Covid came to town, let me fill you in.

A parody/satire Facebook page was created earlier this summer lampooning the Borger PD. The page rapidly gained a following.

Many people thought it was hilarious, and that includes people from all over the U.S. Borger PD did not.

Soon posts began to pop up on the satire page stating that Borger PD was actively searching for the page's creator.

Then there was news of a warrant, and an attempt to arrest the creator. Supposedly, Borger PD showed up to arrest the creator of the page. The page's creator must have missed the memo, because he was at a different address.

If you thought that this would finally be over now that the creator has been found and turned himself in, you're wrong. I have a feeling this is just getting started.

The creator has a GoFundMe campaign to help with the costs.

I'll be honest. I'm rooting for the page's creator. It is not reasonable to think that any level headed adult would take anything posted on the page seriously enough to act on. I also find myself having to stand on the side of free speech, and in defense of artistic expression.

Just because you don't like something, find it offensive, or even find yourself becoming the butt of the joke; that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.

Hell, even I got pulled into the shenanigans (I'm not the snitch by the way). I'm not upset about it. In fact, it gave me yet another much needed laugh.

Give 'em hell and hold your head up. Thank you for the laughs. I can't wait to see how this plays out.
