The Revolving Door at 909 S. Madison: Amarillo’s Most Cursed Business Address
Amarillo is a growing city, and with growth comes new businesses opening and closing all over the city. While some businesses build their place from the ground up, others move into current buildings. However, some of these buildings in Amarillo seem to be cursed, and it doesn't matter who moves in; the fate seems to be the same.
For those who are new, let me preface this: when we say cursed, it doesn't mean haunted or evil spirits; it means this particular building or area has just had many businesses open and close.
The History of 909 S. Madison
This building has been many things in its life. Let's take a look back at the last 20 years of this Amarillo corner and see just how many businesses have called it home.
The Music Box and the Legend of the Curse
This building has had its share of turnover on its own, but with the recent closure of the legendary The Music Box next door, this whole corner now carries the weight of that curse. The Music Box had a reputation for being haunted, and whether you believe that or not, there is no denying that this corner has seen more than its fair share of businesses come and go.
Hopefully, the next new life in this small building will break the business curse. Take a look at all the businesses that have come and gone from this address.

Can the Curse of 909 S. Madison Be Broken?
Yellow City Street Foods may have broken the curse in the best way possible. They outgrew the building, moved into a bigger location, and are still thriving after 13 years. We hope the same happens for the new Miguelitos.

As with any new business, we as residents should rally around our local owners and bring the love. They will bring the business, so we need to bring the patronage. Not just in the beginning, but year-round for years and years to come.

Hopefully, soon that whole area will see a resurgence, and the history of that corner will come back to life.
