Today is National Workplace Napping Day. While I usually don't mind too much that we don't celebrate every single "National Day" on the calendar, this is one I wish we honored.

Since workplace napping isn't a part of the 9-5 culture in the U.S., I decided to map out places in the radio station that may or may not be good for a nap. You know, just case I were to ever decide I need a midday nap before I get on the air.

Under The Console - Not Good For Naps

Under the console looks like it would be a great place, but unfortunately there simply isn't enough room to stretch out unless you're 4'5''. Also, the "whirring" of all of the computer towers down there is a little distracting if you're not into ASMR.

Production Room Closet - Good For Naps

The closet in the spare production room is actually pretty nice for naps. The main reason why this is a great place for pulling a Rip Van Winkle is that no one is really ever in there. It's a spare room. The closet isn't used at all, and it's large enough for a person to stretch out.

Recliners In The Lounge - Good For Naps

The recliners are a win because they, well, recline. The only drawback is that they are in the lounge area, so lights are usually on and it's a given that someone will walk by and see you. If you don't care about getting caught, these are primo.

The Rest of the Lounge - Not Good For Naps

The furniture may look inviting, but don't be fooled. This is a radio station lounge where we bring people to sit, talk, and shoot pool. It's also high traffic. Nothing about this space is good for napping. The furniture also isn't the most comfortable in world when you stretch out on it. You'll find no memory foam here.

Men's Room Stall - Great for Quick Naps

Is it the most comfortable? No. Is it ergonomic? Absolutely not. Will your legs fall asleep? Of course. However, you won't be bothered. No one will wake you from your power nap on the porcelain throne. This is the best spot in the house.

Weird Signs On Coulter

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.
