There's a new song by a band never really heard on the radio before that is currently at spot 84 in Billboards' Hot 100 list. The song is "Chocolate" by The 1975 from their album Music For Cars. They are an, what else, English Alternative/ Indie Rock band from Manchester. Their song has been a relative success and, while they have other nice songs, "Chocolate" seems to be the only one getting any attention.

As for me, I like the song as it has a nice ring to it, but find it annoyingly unintelligible. The main reason is that I can't understand a word coming from the singer's mouth. The vocals are provided by Matthew Healy's strong English accent but the dialect barrier shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying the song.

In honor of another song that's labeled artists as one hit wonders, I want to count down some of my favorite one hit wonder songs from the past and even present. To count as a one hit wonder it must have been from an artist or band that was never really heard from again, at least not as much as it used to, on the radio. Here they are in no particular order.

Ranking number 29 in Billboards Hot 100 and 37 in Mainstream Top 40, it enjoyed great success back in 2010. The song is by Australians Yoland Be Cool and producer DCUP, released on the independent label Sweat it Out. Done by sampling  "Tu Vuo Fa L'Americano" it has a nice dance and silly beat and, in my opinion, is much better than Pitbull's "Bon, Bon."

This song comes from the talented English indie rock band Florence and the Machine. While Florence Welch has been heard on the radio with the hit song "Sweet Nothing,"  not many of the bands or her own songs have received radio play as much as the one above. In other countries, like England, they have managed to make more hits and gain fame, being recognized and praised for their music.

Almost every year a song that doesn't seem like the usual Billboard hit comes along, usually an indie song. In 2011 "Pumped Up Kicks" became the breakthrough hit of the American indie pop band Foster the People. It peaked at number 3 in the Billboards Hot 100 in the US for eight weeks. Since their song they haven't had another hit but are currently releasing a new album which many of their fans eagerly await.

Written and performed by Belgian- Australian Singer- Songwriter Gotye, featuring Kimbra, this song became a significant commercial success for Gotye, topping in multiple countries charts, enjoying world wide success, reaching the number 1 spot in the Hot 100s . Both artists haven't had another song with the amount of success "Somebody That I Used To Know" had, but keep on producing original and inspired content.

5. Stay

Though Rihanna is still putting out hit songs like the most recent "Can't Remember To Forget You" with Shakira, Mikky Ekko's first and currently only charting material was "Stay" which he performed with Rihanna. The pop ballad reached the top five in multiple countries, peaking at number 3 in the Hot 100.
There's my list of some of my favorite songs from one-hit wonders. If know any good songs from other one-hit wonders share them in the comment section below.
