Potter County Grand Jury Indicts Man For Capital Murder in Hotel Shooting
A Potter County Grand Jury has indicted a 29-year-old man for the February shooting death of a woman at a local hotel.
As of this morning, Trey Phililp Greenleaf has been indicted on a count of Capital Murder and a lesser charge of Murder.
On the morning of February 5, officers with Amarillo Police Department were called out to the WoodSpring Suites in the 4600-block of East I-40 on a report that a deceased woman had been found in a room.

The woman was identified as 31-year-old Kendra Vela.
Eyewitness statements led police to identify Greenleaf as a suspect and located him at a nearby hotel. Greenleaf allegedly used Vela's vehicle to leave the hotel after shooting her.
Greenleaf remains in Potter County Detention Center in lieu of $450,000 bond and parole violation hold.
