Another week and another drop in gas prices. This marks the fourth week in a row where gas prices have dropped in Texas. The drop in prices means relief for Texans taking vacations or those whose budgets were stretched thin.

According to AAA Texas, the average gas price in Texas is now at $3.36 per gallon of regular unleaded. This is a 13-cent drop from last week. We're still paying about 52 cents more than we were at this time last year. The national average is $3.92. El Paso still has the highest gas prices in Texas at $3.75, while Sherman/Denison is paying the least at $3.15 per gallon.

Millions of Texans Expected on the Roads

The official start to the July holiday travel period is Saturday, June 27. More than 5.7 million Texans are expected to travel, with about 5 million of those on the roads.

Will Lower Prices Continue Into July

While fluctuations are always possible during a busy holiday travel period, lower crude oil prices are supporting the overall downward trend, which is excellent news for the millions of travelers preparing to hit the road, said Daniel Armbruster, spokesperson for AAA Texas

A quick check at OilPrice.com shows that Brent crude is currently at $74.79, while WTI crude is at $71.66 per barrel.
