Per my usual daily routine, I took a look a Reddit. I like it because it's a heck of a pulse on the city.

I saw something that piqued my interest. A user mentioned something about seeing activity at the old Ambassador Hotel.

I thought that was interesting because it's been closed and abandoned for 4 years now.

If you don't know, The Ambassador holds a place in Amarillo history. It was the first of its kind here, a marquee hotel. Superstars such as Oprah Winfrey and Sir Paul McCartney have stayed at The Ambassador.

Wyndham ended up buying out the hotel and turning it into a Wyndham Garden Hotel. It closed in 2017 due to lack of money coming into the location.

It was a complete end of an era and has laid vacant since that fateful day. Now it seems there's some milling around over there and resurrecting hopes that it could once again stand.

I started doing a little digging to see if I could find anything about what may be happening. I stumbled upon something that stunned me, and made me do a double take.

Remember, the hotel was bought out by Wyndham in 2014, so it hasn't been named The Ambassador since then, and hasn't been open since late 2017.

Amazingly, you can still book a stay at THE AMBASSADOR! No, not the Wyndham...The Ambassador.

Think I'm kidding? Take a look at this.

You're not seeing that wrong. It looks like it's a legit hotel that you can stay at. It tells you what's around the area, how far away from the airport you are, etc. The picture used is even when it was still named The Ambassador. You can see the TGI Friday's (that no longer exists) in it.

So can you really go through the whole booking process? You can...until it finally pops up there are no dates available for your stay. So why even have it up there and make us think it's back? So frustrating.

But hey, with activity at the site you never know. The Ambassador could be on its way back and they're just getting the jump.
