Let me start off with this disclaimer:

When we say cursed building we don't mean haunted or demonized, we just mean that it is a building that has had many businesses come and go within its walls.

Today we are going to feature the building at 2916 Wolflin Avenue.

In the 80s this building was home to Lettuce Works.  A restaurant that had a large salad bar, and also served, soups, sandwiches, and quiches.

Carolina's Woodfired Italian

Carolina's served up Italian food and authentic woodfire pizzas.  It was in this location from 2007 to about 2011.

La Laguna Mexican Restaurant

I'm pretty sure this was a flash in a pan restaurant that was there, but no one remembers it, except there was photo proof it existed.  It was there for about a year in 2012.

Zemer's Deli

Zemer's Deli moved into the building in 2013 and lasted in that location until 2016.  They opened up a second location in the Happy State Bank Building Basement that was open from 2016 to 2018.  Their Avocado Grilled Cheese was amazing.  However, the one thing I miss terribly about Zemer's is their homemade dill pickles.  They were so good.  Luckily, I have a friend who worked there that has the recipe and makes me pickles on a regular basis.

Here's the restaurant that might just break the curse on this building.

Yellow City Street Food.

Yellow City Street Food moved into this building in 2016. They opened the business in 2013. Their original location was at 10th and Madison in a tiny building (which is now home to Budnuts Mini Donuts).  They have called this building home for 6 years. They have had their ups and downs, broken windows, and a bit of small-town controversy, but they serve up some really great food.  Their animal fries and Impossible Burger are to die for (I'm not even vegan or vegetarian but sometimes, you just don't want meat) I'd order this burger over a regular burger any day.

According to their website:

<span class="x-el x-el-span c1-7q c1-7r c1-b c1-c c1-d c1-e c1-f c1-g">We're a New American style restaurant, street food inspired!  From Tacos to Burgers to Wok Dishes to Vegan Fare to Desserts to Brunch...</span><span class="x-el x-el-span c1-7q c1-7r c1-b c1-c c1-d c1-e c1-f c1-g">WE HAVE YOU COVERED!! </span>

Let's see where we stand at the turn of the decade.  Will this building still be home to YCSF or will it have moved on to its next business?

Amarillo Cursed Buildings - 715 S. Polk

Polk Street is a great place to spend an evening. However, over the years, Polk Street has seen many businesses come and go. One of these buildings is at 715 S. Polk. It has been many things over the years, mainly bars, but it seems as soon as one moves in, it moves right out.

So what all has been in there? Let's take a look back at 715 S. Polk.

This building was originally built in 1915, it was known as The Hollywood.

Amarillo's Cursed Buildings – Historic Route 66, 2813 SW 6th

There are some places around town that just can't seem to stay in business for very long. This is one of them.

The address of the cursed building is 2813 SW 6th Street. This building was originally built in 1930. This place was originally a service station. I'm sure in the heydays of Rt. 66, this place was the place to stop to get your car serviced. However, in the last 15 years, this building has seen many different faces.
