A $100 Donut and 4 Other Ridiculously Priced Foods
I love sweets. That is my downfall. So this morning when I was doing my show prep, I came across this amazing donut that I know I need to try. But it costs $100! I kept digging and found that the donut is just one of the ridiculously expensive foods out there.
I love food! All kinds. And I don't mind paying a little extra to try something you will probably never get to try again. I see it as an opportunity too delicious to pass up. Here are some of the most expensive foods around, that I totally need to try. :)
The Golden Cristal Ube Donut
This donut cost $100 each. The icing is made with Cristal champagne and the donut is filled with an ube mousse, champagne jelly, and covered with 24k Gold. You can get this at the Manila Social Club in New York.
The Glamburger
This burger is made from Kobe and Wagyu patty that is garnished in gold leaf, with lobster, caviar, venison, a duck egg, and black truffle. It costs about $1770. You can get this at the HonkyTonk Restaurant in London.
The Zillion Dollar Frittata
This frittata is made with eggs, lobster and 10 ounces of sevruga caviar (which costs the restaurant $65 per ounce). This will cost you $1,000 and can be bought at Le Parker Meridien in New York.
The Juuni Ban
The Juuni Ban is a smoked cheese bratwurst served on a brioche bun, with no mustard or relish. It is topped with butter Teriyaki grilled onions, Maitake mushrooms, Wagyu beef, foie gras, shaved black truffles, caviar and Japanese mayonnaise. It costs $169 and you can get it from the Tokyo Dog food truck in Seattle.
Golden Phoenix Cupcake
This sweet treat is made with Italian cocoa, Ugandan vanilla beans and infused with 23-carat gold and will cost $1,007 each. You will find it in the Bloomsbury's Cafe in United Arab Emirates, Dubai.
All of these items are ridiculously expensive, but for some reason I feel like I need to try them all. LOL. Would you spend this much money to try them once?
