I love the fact that we love our dogs. I mean this is a big deal. We want to make sure they are vaccinated. We also love a good deal. Kuddos to us. Boy have we been taking advantage or these free vaccination clinics that Amarillo Management and Welfare have been offering.

The first week almost 500 dogs were vaccinated so that they had to move the rest of the clinics to Dick Bivins Stadium Parking Lot. This past Saturday after the move they saw another 500 dogs. Again kudos to Amarillo. That is a total of almost 1,000 dogs that are protected from distemper and parvo.

They were supposed to have two more clinics the next two Saturday's. Two more chances to take advantage. Due to the overwhelming numbers they have had to cut back on the dates.

It's understandable. I don't think they were expecting the turnout. I mean obviously having to change the location was the first sign. Though this is all great news. Nothing is better than having more and more dogs protected from a horrible sickness.

So it was announced the other day that they will have just one clinic left. Enough time to make your plans. The final one will be on September 4th. It will still be out at Dick Bivin's Stadium parking lot. It will still be from 1pm - 3pm. Be prepared and get there early. Take advantage of the help that is being provided. This is a great thing for Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle.

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.
