As you drive along the highways and roads of Texas, you will see windmills as far as the eye can see, producing energy for Texans.   The view of those windmills as you pass through Claude and Armstrong County is about to become visible as far as the eye can see.

The beginnings of the FGE Goodnight Project are kicking off.   This project is investing half a billion dollars into Armstrong County and the State of Texas, to build this wind energy project that will help power over 500,000 homes.

The project was originally created by FGE and later sold in 2022 to Omega Energia whose main office is located in San Paulo Brazil.  The Omega Digital Renewable Energy, LLC office is located in Austin, Texas.

Phase I and Phase II of the project were set to be complete by the end of 2023 and they still have about 6 months to finish, however, just with the way supply chains and the world of construction goes, this project may be pushed further into 2024.

According to documents recently registered with the licensing department, they are preparing to build a new 7,050 sq ft, metal building for the project.  The building will be used for business space and also for repair and maintenance.   The cost for this building will run about $1.8 million.   This building will be located at 4690 HWY 207, Claude, TX 79019.  It has a completion date of August 2023.

This project will create over 85 jobs during the construction portion, and 15 permanent jobs.
