Amarillo’s South Soncy Sees Exciting Surge in New Local Businesses
The area at Hillside and Soncy in Amarillo is seeing a great surge of new businesses building in this area.
It wasn't too long ago that this area was nothing but farmland for as far as the eye can see. Soon the Townsquare Village area popped up. The Colonies expanded as well as the Greenways. More housing developments were built. Hillside Christian Church and Rosa's were built. Sonic soon followed, and then the area saw a Toot 'n Totum and Braum's. Now the business is moving further south on Soncy.
Wendy's was built next to Rosa's and the business explosion continues. Recently we shared that there is a new oil change spot called Oil Changers moving in, but that's not all.
What's Coming to Hillside and Soncy?
Starbucks
Starbucks will soon open next to Wendy's. This will be the 9th Starbucks in Amarillo including those in local stores. A new store is also being built at 4th and Pierce.
Amarillo National Bank
Not only is Starbucks opening south of Hillside and Soncy. A new Amarillo National Bank Branch will soon be built. This will be located at Pineridge and Soncy. The Amarillo National Bank - Greenways, will cost $12,000,000 to build and will tentatively be open Fall of 2025.
You'll be able to deposit your check or grab some cash, then head and grab your Starbies all in one location. Not only will those two businesses soon be open on Soncy, a new location to receive medical care will be opening right along with ANB, and Starbucks.
CareXpress - 8601 Hillside Rd
BSA is opening a new urgent care clinic at Hillside and Soncy. Their main entrance will be off Hillside. They are an urgent care facility. CareXpress currently has 6 locations in Amarillo/Canyon, this will make their 7th. The cost of the project will be $6.3 million and has a tentative finish date of Fall 2025.
It'll be interesting to see what other businesses will open in this area.
