If You Have Consumed a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder Outside of Texas Recently, Read This Alert!
Let's face it when you are traveling and looking for a quick bite to eat, the logical choice is McDonald's. It's quick and easy, and it's been proven an easy meal to eat in the car while driving (which we do not recommend or encourage). However, if you are traveling or have been traveling out of Texas into New Mexico, Oklahoma, and other states and have consumed a Quarter Pounder and are feeling sick, there may be a reason.

According to the FDA, USDA, FSIS, and the CDC, have discovered a multistate outbreak of E. coli. They have yet to confirm a specific ingredient, but those who have fallen ill reported eating a McDonald's Quarter Pounder in different varieties.
These investigators are working to determine if it was the onions or the beef patties used on the Quarter Pounders that caused the outbreak.
Where was the Outbreak?
Although Texas, was not included on the list of states affected, many Texans travel to our surrounding states and many chose to stop at McDonald's. Those states affected include Colorado, Kansas, Utah, Wyoming, and portions of Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
These restaurants have stopped using the Quarter Pounder onions and beef patties temporarily, but if you have traveled to these states and recently consumed a Quarter Pounder and are feeling sick, this might be why.
