In 2024, 46 of the most wanted fugitives were brought to justice in Texas, two of those included statewide manhunts.

One of those statewide manhunts began on October 3, 2024, when Seth Altman allegedly shot Rex Plant, the Police Chief of Memphis, Texas multiple times after they came to his residence to arrest him for burglary.  Altman was captured in Fort Worth on October 25, 2024, and arrested for Attempted Capital Murder of a Peace Officer.  The shooting set off a Blue Alert at 5 am that woke thousands of Texans from a deep sleep and caused the FCC to receive over 4000 complaints.

Another manhunt began on July 16, 2024, after Adiah Roberson allegedly shot and killed Daniel Shrewsbury, the manager at a Sonic in San Antonio.  She was captured on October 22, 2024, in Dallas, Texas after Texas Crimestoppers received a tip on her whereabouts.
