I drive by this empty building every single day. I miss it being a place that I could stop for a great meal. I'm talking about the old Gardski's location.

It's Gotta Be Gardski's?

You remember Gardski's don't you?

They closed down in Amarillo in the early 2000's or so. They had a couple locations in Lubbock and one held on. It finally closed down around 2015. Up until then I at least got to travel for their great fried cheese.

If you don't remember the Gardski's location, maybe that was before your time. If not it was more recently Leal's. It's a nice building located at 1616 S Kentucky. Right there in Wellington Square. They have recently done some work to the outside so it got my hopes up. I thought since they took away the stairs, the ones with my name engraved in the cement. It must be getting ready for new tenants.

That upgrade happened several months ago and still nothing. I mean it's in a prime location. Easy off at I40 and Georgia. It's in the middle of the city. The building has plenty of restaurant space. I think we are missing out by it continuing to be empty.

I know there is still a Schlotzsky's, Macaroni Joe's and even Dyer's Barbecue in that shopping center but there is still room for more.

We are missing out if we don't get something in there. Oh and we don't need an office area. We need a restaurant.

So what kind of food should move into that location?

Make your voice heard. There is not a wrong answer here.
