Concerns With Cleanliness Plague Braum's on Western

When it comes to a place in the Amarillo area where you go to get ice cream, Braum's is one of the first places to come to mind.

Braum's is great for their ice cream, but they also have a big menu of things to eat, including burgers and chicken strips. They even have a great breakfast menu. It is very rare you see someone on social media talking about Braum's unless someone was rude about handing ice cream through the drive-thru in 70 mph winds or their order was wrong.

Braum's, the store at 4629 S. Western, what's going on?

Everybody seems to be hating on you at the moment. If you scroll through Facebook or read through Google reviews, you'll see multiple complaints about the store. It's not about the food it's about the cleanliness of the store.

I looked up and saw dust bunnies hanging off the wooden rafters

They can't be bothered to clean the ice cream freezers.

This particular Braum's was in the middle of the road construction on Western for about a year stirring up dirt. This could be the reason for the dust bunnies on the rafters, but it doesn't account for the dirty soda machines, ice cream on the walls, and the freezers that hold the tubs of ice cream.

It sounds like this Braum's needs to close and do a serious deep cleaning from top to bottom. Scrub the floors, walls, and ceilings.

If this Braum's is this dirty in the area where customers sit and eat, what does the back kitchen area look like where the food is prepared?

Yelp can be a strange and angry place. That's what I found out recently when I decided to sort the reviews by "lowest rating" first.

I was okay with the people upset over bad service and what not. But I came across a few reviews that, for lack of a better word, left me speechless in their scathing negative reviews on some of Amarillo's most iconic places. Prepare your self for plenty of head shaking and "I dunno" shrugs.
